Class Description

- GENTLE AND RESTORATIVE YOGA
A slower paced class for people with ongoing health concerns or who have been inactive for a while. Pregnant and menopausal women are welcome and will have personalized instructions. Includes several restorative poses with deep relaxation. ______________________________________________________________
- BEGINNER YOGA
Introduction to Iyengar Yoga and the fundamentals of yoga poses and breath. Emphasis on standing poses, flexibility and core strength development. Restorative poses for relaxation and stress relief. (Recommended attendance is one year). Beginner I is for those with no Yoga experience. Beginner II requires a 6-month Iyengar Yoga experience ______________________________________________________________ - INTERMEDIATE YOGA
Refining standing poses. Introduction to Level 2and 3 poses, including headstand, hand stand, deep back bends and yogic breathing(pranayama). Prerequisite: Minimum of 6 months Iyengar Yoga experience ______________________________________________________________
- FLOW YOGA
Flow Yoga is a playful, fluid class that gracefully and dynamically links poses to the breath, set to uplifting music. With a strong focus on alignment and following the breath, Flow Yoga is a movement meditation that deepens our awareness of our bodies and minds. The class ranges from mild to dynamic and is open to students at all levels. ________________________________________________________ - ALL LEVELS
Prerequisite: 6 months basic or beginner yoga experience. _________________________________________________________
- ADAPTIVE YOGA
Adaptive Yoga is for persons with an illness or chronic condition such as fibromyalgia, arthritis, MS, migraines, or chronic fatigue. Instructions will be tailored to individual needs and will consist of 20minutes chair yoga, 20 minutes standing poses, 15 seated or lying on floor poses, and 15 minutes of restorative poses, deep relaxation and yogic breathing. Persons who cannot do standing poses or get on the floor will be given alternatives. -
- MEDITATION
Meditation practice, sutra studies, tea and discussion based on Thich Nhat Hahn practices. No experience necessary. Be 15 minutes early if new to meditation.
